WRW has been serving the NYC Metropolitan area since 1993 providing clients both large and small with personalized service.
The firm is primarily engaged in real estate law and has represented clients in various types of real estate transactions, including purchases and sales, construction and permanent financing, commercial development, and leasing, as well as cooperative and condominium matters. In these transactions, the firm structures, prepares and negotiates contracts, reviews title and other documents pertinent to the property, and provides representation at closings.
The firm has also represented borrowers in commercial lending and venture capital transactions and has represented lenders, borrowers, and investors in structuring and closing transactions involving the syndication of federal housing tax credits and historic tax credits. The firm has assisted not-for-profit companies in the development of real estate projects for specialized uses with financing provided through State Grant Liens and refinancing with the proceeds of tax-exempt bonds.
We have served as developers counsel to for-profit entities in the development of real estate projects such as construction and rehabilitation programs involving financing and/or subsidies from New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York City Housing Development Corporation. These projects often include equity funding from investors under the Federal low-income housing tax credit program. In addition, the firm has acted as investor counsel to the Federal National Mortgage Association in connection with Fannie Maes investment in development projects involving historic tax credits.
A significant part of or practice involves the representation of several major lending institutions in the documentation and closing of residential mortgage loans for the purchase or refinance of one-to-four family homes and cooperative and condominium apartment units.
Claire O. Wood

Ms. Wood has over 30 years of experience representing buyers, sellers, developers, not-for-profit organizations as well as lending institutions in residential and commercial transactions.
Ms. Woods primary focus has been conducting real estate transactions and the supervision of the firm's legal staff in their handling of client's real estate matters. Her commitment to providing the most effective and efficient service to the firm's clients is exhibited in her continuous education and training of the staff in legal issues as well as matters of customer service.
Ms. Wood received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in and her law degree from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a member of the New York State and Louisiana Bars. She is an avid supporter of local Brooklyn artists and is a Trustee of the Brooklyn Academy of Arts.
Curtis A. Wood
PARTNER
Curtis A. Wood, Partner. Mr. Wood has experience in corporate and partnership matters and has represented corporations, general and limited partnerships, and not-for-profit institutions, covering a myriad of complex legal issues and transactions.
Mr. Wood has represented developers and investors in the development of low-income housing with equity financing from the sale of housing tax credits and loans and subsidies from governmental sources, including proceeds from the sale of tax-exempt bonds. Mr. Woods experience includes lenders representation of secured and unsecured transactions, including construction and permanent loans for residential and commercial properties. He is also represented owners and developers in various real estate transactions and is versed in cooperative and condominium matters and commercial leasing. Mr. Wood has also represented issuers and underwriters the issuance of numerous municipal securities.
Mr. Wood received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law. He is a member of the bar of the State of New York, and the District of Columbia.

Brenda Farrow White
OF-COUNSEL
Ms. White has been practicing law for over 35 years in the areas of elder law, estates, and adoption. She is an Impartial Hearing Officer for the New York City Board of Education, hearing disputes involving issues in special education. Ms. White also appears before the Supreme Court and Surrogates Court of New York in cases involving guardianship of incapacitated persons and estate matters. Ms. White works closely with the firm with clients who have estate issues tied to real estate and provides representation in Surrogates Court.
Ms. White holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California. She also holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. She is admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction of New York.
Ms. White is a Trustee Emeritus of the City University of New York, having served as a trustee of the University for years. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Essex County Mental Health Association and the Montclair North Essex YWCA. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Montclair Newark and the Wellesley College Alumnae Council. Ms. White is also a member of The Links, one of the nation's oldest African American women's service organizations.
